One of my main influences with Mississippi John Hurt. Glad they're available to see. Thanks for the memories.

I have been listening to this song for over 40 years, even saw him do it live, once and it gets funnier every time.

To bad you misssed it! Back in the 60's Patrick was simply the best! The most graceful guitar player on the scene. And like Frow1 says.........Patrick was his own worse critic. Kinda like Spider John Koerner in that regard.

Never heard of this guy before but one thing I know is that he looks a lot like Alfred E. Neuman. If only he had jug ears the likeness would be complete.

totally dreamy

Pat was his worst critic. A friend who had a shop on MacDougal Street in NYC told me he once found Pat sitting in a garbage can in a back lane one night after a concert. He'd thought he'd given a lousy performance that night and so "I threw myself away..."

Believe me, there are a lot of us in the UK who remember Pat and his perfomances in the late 1960s (live and on radio) with Great Great affection - AND we bought the records. (A brief nod, too, to the legendary Hans of Collett's Folk Shop at - what is now - Centrepoint in London).
